We spent Saturday out on the water, kayaking on a lake which does not allow motorized engines. It is always lovely but it was quieter than usual, with fewer campers. We paddled to the far end of the lake, as far as we could go, and enjoyed watching an Osprey circle lazily above us. We pulled out at rocky islands to scramble and eat our picnic lunch. On our way back we stopped at this sandy beach which is usually occupied by campers, and we swam for a while in the clear water. In the evening we barbecued down by the edge of a different lake and watched the sun turn the mountaintops golden. We'd hoped to see the bald eagle again but saw more ospreys instead.
